Norfolk County is considering modifying boat restrictions at Port Dover beach.

Currently, the beach operates under Schedule 1 restrictions, prohibiting all boats. However, residents have requested that the council and staff evaluate a shift to Schedule 2, which would only ban motorized boats.

The staff will initiate the application to transition from Schedule 1 to Schedule 2, a process that will extend until at least 2026.

According to the staff, this change would adjust the swim area size, enhancing beach accessibility for boaters while ensuring safety for swimmers.
